Toshiba’s TG01 Will Be Launched in UK

“The wide got wider”. Confused??? The wide screen of your mobile got wider. Yes the new phone by Toshiba TG01 gives you a 4.1 inch wide screen. The TG01 has a vast 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 touch screen. The news of the launch of TG01 came five months ago and now Toshiba is all set to release its new Windows Mobile Smartphone into the market.
TG01 by Toshiba will be released on 9th July of this year in UK. The phone is already in sale in Spain, Japan and Germany and will be released all over the Asia and Europe soon. The 9mm thin handset will give you the best quality picture on the screen as said by one of the officials of the company. The Smartphone is called by the name of Snapdragon because of its 4.1 inch wide WVGAtouch screen.
Toshiba’s TG01 runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS with Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD2850 processor of 1GHz frequency. This makes the phone faster than any other phone currently present in the market. The phone has 3D features too. It also supports the Divx files too.
The phone will come in resistive rather than capacitive touch screen. There is no stylus silo in the handset, but the company officials confirmed that a stylus would be present in the retail box itself. The phone looks similar to the iPhone as it has minimum hardware controls. With 1GHz processor the Snapdragon chipset should be able to support many of the mobile games.
The demo of TG01 handset shows that video and games runs very smoothly with slick and high resolution even in the less lighting environment. It is still to be discovered if there is a TV out feature in the phone.
The phone is just 9mm thin, slimmer than iPhone 3G and Touch HD. TG01 has a soft-touch plastic casing, with a chromed strip running around the edges. The phone also has some quick launch keys for camera, volume and power. The phone has 3.2 megapixel camerawith autofocus. But it lacks a flash for it. Phone has a microUSB port.
The various means of data transfer available in the phone are GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSCSD, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB. The phone has internal 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. The internal memory can by expanded up to 16GB. The phone will be released in white and black colors. The phone offers 27 hours of standby and 5 hours of talktime.
